Old Train Station, Tel Aviv

The old Jaffa railway station and its surrounding neighbourhood are now a hipster destination with cafes, bars, restaurants, and a youthful vibe. The building of the old railway station – HaTachanah – in Neve Tzedek, is preserved and counts as a historical landmark together with the adjacent Israel Défense Forces History Museum.
It’s well worth seeing, as it is the site of the first railway station in the Middle East. It was restored between 2004 and 2009 and now is a trendy arts and lifestyle destination, with enough to do for adults and young ones alike. There’s shopping, dining, and even street performances to enjoy when you visit the compound – for example, circus every Saturday between 5:00 and 8:00 P.M.
For the little ones, the 3D Journey in Time is a wonderfully interactive ride with all kinds of exciting special effects. Follow up the experience with an artisan ice cream and don’t miss out on the contemporary art exhibition with seasonally changing displays while you visit HaTachanah. There’s also kosher food about, plus other dining ops that will satisfy the most discerning foodies.
